What happens
Frustrated by having to pay full Kommerkion, a 10% customs tax in Constantinople, many Byzantine Merchants have taken the rather shrewd tactic of employing the help of Latin Merchants, who are exempt from the tax in order to evade it, severely harming our finances. Many Byzantine traders regularly complain about the unfair treatment and lack of protectionism.
