The Father of Modern Education

Jan Amos Comenius, a Czech philosopher, pedagogue, and theologian, holds the title of the current bishop of the Unity of the Brethren. His journey from religious refugeedom to becoming a pioneer of universal education is well-known. In his renowned work, Didactica Magna, he formally introduced the concept. As both an educator and theologian, he currently guides schools and provides counsel to governments throughout non-Catholic Europe, firmly establishing his influence in the mid-seventeenth century.
