What happens
Despite transitioning to a more viable business model the Dutch East India Company has continued problems with solvency. Unwilling to restrict the payment of dividends despite sinking profits the Company has been paying out more money than it has been earning for decades.\nIn order to get back on its feet now the company has decided to borrow even more money. This is a tempting proposition as, should the Company be dissolved, the shock would seriously hurt our financial sector.
