What happens
The original system of loaning in Italy was a joint stock fund where each citizen had to lend a certain amount of cash in exchange for interest, called Monte Vecchio. In the mid-15th century, Venetian bankers introduced a guaranteed minimum payment of interest to the lenders which increased the amount of money people were willing to lend. This 'Monte Nuovo' was extremely successful and funded many of Venice's wars.\nWhat shall we do?
