What happens
The Portuguese have taken control of the trade in the Indian Ocean, diverting trade around Africa instead of through Alexandria. This has severely affected our chances of controlling the Spice Trade. We can, however, attempt to send some help to the Mamluks.

When this event fires, Spice Trade Threatened presents these options:
