What happens
After the turbulent times and constant war of the Sengoku Jidai, numerous festivals (matsuri) were established to celebrate peace once it was achieved. One of the most famous ones is the one celebrated in Kanda Myojin in Edo, a shrine popular both among the samurai and the common classes. The numerous floats, mikoshi, and performances that go along the procession really have turned the matsuri into widely acclaimed celebrations, and the focus of city life when they happen.
