What happens
Although Scotland has so far managed to stay out of the religious conflicts in the Holy Roman Empire, it is not for lack of interest. We are keenly aware that this war will impact all of Europe and are not without diplomatic stake in the outcome. Although Scotland may not be willing to go to war for a League, many Scots are. Serving as mercenaries in foreign armies on the continent, they may well change the course of the war without our direct involvement.
Player choices
When this event fires, Scottish Mercenaries presents these options:
- Send them to fight for the Evangelical League.
- Send them to fight for the Catholic League.
- We need all the troops we can muster right here.
