What happens
'The Turk' filled the conquistador's ears with tales of the wealthy city of Quivira, of the fat land well watered by springs and rivers, the gold that adorned the houses and the fat, happy people. What the expedition found, however, was just more farming people living in a flat-roofed adobe town!
