Decline of the Janissaries

Although a well-disciplined military force, the Janissaries are not immune to infightings in their own rows. Several chains of events led to rivalries between the different ortas of the Janissary regiments, resulting in a less coherent organization of the Janissaries. No longer able to devote their full attention to the political or military affairs, their influence yields before the authority of their our ruler.
