Olof Rudbeck publishes 'Atlantica'

Botanist, architect, historian, astronomer and musician. Olof Rudbeck was an academic jack-of-all-trades, but above all he was a romantic and a patriot. His life's work was the 'Atlantica' - a massive history in which he claimed that Sweden was in fact the mythical Atlantis. Due to Rudbeck's outstanding reputation and the learned nature of his discourse, the grandiose work was surprisingly well received. All cultures, the professor claimed, originated in Sweden.
