What happens
During his reign, Mathias Corvinus quite significantly changed the Hungarian state and society. He managed to increase the royal income dramatically by making the poorer members of the Diet who were unable to attend it regularly agree to grant taxes several years in advance, outmaneuvering the high nobility, by establishing a regular, functional system of tax collection and by having the treasury administered by specialists with separate functions.
