What happens
Italy has been a region coveted by many rulers for centuries, as the efforts of the Hohenstaufen dynasty to assert their authority over the Italian communes failed utterly. This has proven to be a challenging ambition, as the peninsula's independent city-states and principalities often turn fiercely against foreign invaders who dare interrupt their ongoing infighting.\n\nHowever, our efforts over the region have paid off, as we are now in a position to declare the Union of Italy as one of the Crowns of our United Kingdom.
