Through the search of a male heir, she was disfavored from the line of succession in favor of her half-brother, being sent instead to Wales, making her relationship with his father deteriorate during her teenage years because of that. During the reign of his half-brother, being she a devout Catholic, he would further disfavor her from the succession in fear that she would reverse the Protestant reforms that had taken place during his reign. That is in fact what Mary wanted to do, determined to crush the Protestant faith, and together with her half-sister Elizabeth, she aimed to gather enough support to reclaim the title of queen.\n\nDespite the odds and the court opposition, she could make a great ruler, reverting the Protestant tendencies that the kingdom has adopted recently and converting it back to Catholicism.
