What happens

Closing their eyes they then pressed the dagger into their skin... \n\nThe cut they placed must've gone deep because the blood that flowed onto the stone floor quickly painted it red as it dripped down the steps. The liquid glistened in the embers of twilight and the our ruler just had time to hear the priests replace their chant with gasps before they passed out.\n\nWhen our ruler awoke again, they was not quite the same.
