Land of the Ancestors

For the great Zanahary a man's lifetime is over in the blink of an eye. The dead, however, are eternal. Our revered ancestors act as intermediaries between God and the living. We must seek their council and keep them happy in order for our community to thrive.\n\nTo commune with them, we must visit the 'tanindrazana', the land of the ancestors. While our own dwellings are usually humble, the dead reside in great burial tombs. One day we shall join them, but for now our biggest responsibility is to serve our ancestors by maintaining their homes and doing their bidding.
