What happens
For many, being in charge is nothing but an opportunity to advance their own personal interests. And that is exactly what our realm is suffering. Unchallenged and drunk with power, the faction behind our regent, and probably our ruler too, is pressing to be granted some privileges. As we are in a position of weakness, refusing to accept their demands can be a dangerous move, and we might be choosing a path to our own damnation. On the other hand, if they managed to cement their power, they might be difficult to remove, should they refuse to step away from lead once we have a proper ruler.
Player choices
When this event fires, The Regency's Abuses presents these options:
- We will accept their demands. For now.
- Perhaps we can bribe them and hope they forget the matter.
- They get nothing. They must serve the nation, not their interests.
