Having united the whole of Italy under the banner of Catholicism, the Pope has seen fit to declare it 'The Kingdom of God'. Catholics from all over Europe flock to his banner, eager to live in this model nation of Christian virtue. Foreign powers can no longer control the College of Cardinals, but neither will they pay much heed to any Papal bulls or decrees.
