Custom nations can pick any two of the 25 generic idea groups as their "national ideas". Select two below to compare their effects and see which policies they unlock together.
How custom nations work
- Start a new game and choose Custom Nation to design your own country from scratch.
- You receive a budget of design points (200 for a 1444 start) to spend on government type, idea group slots, national bonuses (traditions, ideas, ambition) and province clusters.
- The two idea groups you pick function like national ideas — they give your country the seven effects of those groups plus traditions and an ambition.
- Once both chosen idea groups are fully researched, your nation can enact the policies that need both groups — see unlocked policies above.
- Generic idea groups are the 25 universal groups (Administrative, Diplomatic, Military). National ideas (the country-specific sets) are not available in the custom nation designer.
