Total: 40 regiments — 20 front-row + 20 artillery. Cavalry fills both flanks (3 left + 3 right);14 infantry hold the centre.
Composition tips
- Fill the back row with artillery at a 1:1 ratio with your front row for maximum support fire bonus.
- Cavalry on flanks benefits from flanking range bonuses — keep one infantry regiment adjacent to each cavalry block so shock spreads correctly into the centre.
- Cavalry is expensive — many players run fewer than the maximum cap to save ducats and use forcelimit on more infantry instead.
- Aristocratic Ideas and the Feudalism government reform raise the cavalry ratio cap to 50%.
- Combat width values shown are for the Western tech group and may differ slightly for other groups. Extra width from national ideas, policies or estates can be added above.
