Quick Overview

The test_achievement command in Europa Universalis IV is used to verify if you meet the conditions for a specific achievement.

You input the command followed by the achievement ID to test if you fulfill all the criteria for that achievement according to the rules of the game.

In-Depth Description

The test_achievement command in Europa Universalis IV is used to test whether you meet the criteria for a specific achievement in the game.

EU4 features a wide array of achievements that you can strive to accomplish. These achievements usually require you to meet certain criteria, such as controlling a specific territory, reaching a specific level of development, conquering a certain number of provinces, etc.

If you input the test_achievement command followed by the achievement ID of the achievement you want to test (in the format test_achievement [achievement ID]), the game will return a message telling you whether or not you currently meet the requirements for the achievement.

In a way, this particular command can be seen as a debugging tool, helping you figure out why you might not be getting an achievement even though you think you fulfill all of its criteria. It offers valuable help in planning your next moves or clarifying any confusion about what you might still need to do.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~

  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
