Quick Overview

In the game Europa Universalis IV (EU4), the splendor command is used to add splendor points to the player's account.

By default, this command adds 1000 splendor points. Splendor points are used in the game's Age mechanics to purchase abilities.

In-Depth Description

The splendor command in Europa Universalis IV (EU4) is a console command that adds splendor points to your nation.

The default value it adds is 1000, but you can specify another amount if you wish. Splendor points are a key aspect in the Mandate of Heaven DLC and they allow you to unlock powerful bonuses for your nation known as 'Age Abilities.'

In the context of the game, different eras in EU4 have unique 'Age Abilities' that can greatly enhance your nation's development, warfare capabilities, and overall progress.

For example, you can choose an ability that makes your fire dealing more damage in battles, or an ability that allows you to adapt Institutions faster. However, these abilities can only be purchased with splendor points, and it's here where the splendor command becomes helpful.

This command can therefore be quite useful when you're trying to unlock specific Age Abilities, but you lack enough splendor points to do so. By using the splendor command, you can instantly obtain the required amount of points to acquire these enhancements.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~

  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
