Quick Overview

The pirate command in Europa Universalis IV is used to initiate pirate activity in a specific province.

When executed, it will cause pirates to start operating in the province you specify, potentially disrupting trade and naval activities.

In-Depth Description

The pirate command in Europa Universalis IV is a console command that allows you to start a pirate in a specified province.

When this command is executed, pirates will spawn in the sea zone adjacent to the target province. Once pirates are introduced, they are capable of raiding your coastal provinces and can cause significant economic disruptions.

They can blockade your ports, waylay your trade ships and decrease your trade power, leading to less income.

As a player, you can use these pirates strategically by starting them in enemies' coastal provinces to create disruptions in their economy or hamper their naval operations.

Remember, dealing with pirates requires manpower and naval resources, which can divert the attention of your enemies from fronts where you are vulnerable.

To use the command, enter pirate followed by the province ID. For example, typing pirate 237 will spawn pirates in sea zone adjacent to province ID 237.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
