Quick Overview

The command infinite_combat in Europa Universalis IV makes it so that during battles, units do not inflict or receive damage.

This means that the player can engage in combat indefinitely without worrying about losing soldiers.

In-Depth Description

The infinite_combat command in Europa Universalis IV (EU4) is a console command that avails you the ability to engage in a battle with your adversaries without the fear of incurring any damage.

Essentially, this command makes your military units invincible in combat by preventing any form of damage.

Normally in EU4, your troops can take substantial damage in battle, gradually depleting their strength and potentially causing you to lose the battle.

But when you enter the infinite_combat command and activate it, your troops will be able to fight indefinitely without their strength getting reduced.

This can significantly alter the course of the war as you don't have to worry anymore about casualties or lost battles which would otherwise affect your manpower and morale.

Be aware, though, this command affects all battles within the game, not only those you participate in. This allows for stalemates, where battles between nations could conceivably go on indefinitely because no harm can come to any of the participating troops.

This command is best used when you want to avoid losses in any battle situation, effectively making your armies invincible.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~(tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
