In-Depth Description

The government_power is a console command used in Europa Universalis IV. Entering this command grants you maximum or a specified quantity of government ability points specific to the Russian government types introduced in the Third Rome expansion. This also works for the governments added or updated in the Cradle of Civilization expansion, such as Mamluk.

You would use this command if you wish to instantly generate or appropriate a certain amount of government ability points to your ruling structure. These points are vital in the game, as they enable you to enact and implement new policies, improve your government's efficiency, pass reforms, and upgrade your government type, among other benefits.

The command can, for example, allow you to immediately transform your government from a Principality to a Tsardom if playing as Russia, without having to wait to naturally accumulate the required amount of government ability points. Note that the command will function only if you have the specified DLCs activated.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~(tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
