Quick Overview

In the game Europa Universalis IV, the embrace command allows you to make a particular institution adopted in a selected province.

The game features several institutions with different effects.

For instance, Feudalism increases productivity, Renaissance boosts your art and culture, while Colonialism increases overseas perspectives, etc.

If you don't specify an institution while using this command, all the institutions are adopted by default. So, the command works as a shortcut to make the player's province adopt certain development aspects without going through the regular processes for natural emergence and spread of the institutions.

In-Depth Description

The embrace command in Europa Universalis IV is used to automatically embrace a specific institution in a province.

Institutions are fundamental advancements in society, technology, or government and spread gradually throughout the world.

They can provide significant benefits to countries that embrace them, such as technology cost reduction and increased income. This makes the embrace command quite powerful for simulating historical changes in your nation's way of life.

To use this command, you would type embrace [province id] [institution id] , where [institution id] is the identifier for the institution you want to embrace and [province id] is the numeric id of the province where you want the institution to be embraced. If the [province id] is left blank, the institution will be embraced in all of your provinces. If the [institution id] is left blank, your province will embrace all institutions.

For example, embrace 100 renaissance will embrace the Renaissance institution in the province with id 100.

This is a list of all the possible institutions and their identifiers:

  • Feudalism: feudalism
  • Renaissance: renaissance
  • Colonialism: new_world_i
  • Printing Press: printing_press
  • Global Trade: global_trade
  • Manufactories: manufactories
  • Enlightenment: enlightenment
  • Industrialization: industrialization

This command is especially helpful in accelerating your nation's progress and staying competitive, particularly if you're playing a nation that is historically late in adopting these institutions. This command can also simulate historical events that could accelerate or delay the adoption of certain institutions for your nation.
