Quick Overview

The delete_wars command in Europa Universalis IV is used to instantly end all current wars that are taking place in the game.

However, this command does not remove or affect the truces that have been established, meaning that countries will still have to wait until their truce period is over before they can declare war again.

In-Depth Description

When you enter delete_wars in the console command, it ends all current wars that are happening in the game.

This doesn't just apply to the wars that the player's country is involved in, but it applies to all ongoing wars globally.

One core distinction between this command and some other war-related commands is that it ends these wars without removing the truce periods that follow wars in game.

This means that countries can’t immediately declare war again after the delete_wars command is used, they have to wait until their truce period ends.

This can be extremely helpful in a number of situations. For example, if the world is embroiled in wars and you wish to experiment with a peaceful environment, you might choose to use this command. Alternatively, if your country is in a war that you are certain to lose, using this command could save you from the negative consequences of defeat.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~(tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
