EU4 assimilate Console Command

Documentation and detailed help with working examples.
assimilate Command
PlayerDLC: None

This console command assimilates the province with the specified ID. When a province is assimilated, ownership is switched over (to the assimilating country), it is cored, and both its culture and religion are changed to that of the assimilating country. If you do not specify a country tag as an argument, the country you are playing as will assimilate, otherwise, the country with the specified tag will assimilate the province.

assimilate [Province ID] [Country Tag]

The ID of the province you wish to assimilate.

Optional. If specified, the country with this tag will be the country that assimilates the specified province. If not, it will be your country.

Here are examples of how to use assimilate.

assimilate 50

This command assimilates Berlin, which has the province ID of 50, into your country.

assimilate 183 JAP

This command would assimilate Paris, which has the province ID of 183, into Japan.

Quick Overview

The assimilate command in Europa Universalis IV is used to change multiple aspects of a specific province.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~(tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2

  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
