Quick Overview

The annex command in Europa Universalis IV allows you to immediately annex a particular country without going through the usual diplomatic processes or war.

However, it should be noted that using this command will not add any cores (a province that is considered a legitimate part of a nation's territory), which means you won't receive full governing benefits from the territories you annex.

In-Depth Description

The annex command in Europa Universalis IV is used to instantly annex an existing country within the game.

The term country tag refers to the specific country identifier that the game uses to distinguish different nations. For instance, FRA is the tag for France, ENG for England, and CAS for Castile.

To use this command, you would enter annex [country tag] into the game’s console, where [country tag] is replaced by the identifier of the nation you wish to annex.

However, what sets this command apart is that it doesn't add cores to the annexed country. A "core" in EU4 is a province that is considered a rightful part of a country.

A nation's ruler can claim a province as a core, and this process usually happens when a nation is annexed. When a nation is annexed without adding cores, it means that the annexed provinces are not considered as rightful parts of the annexing country.

This can be helpful in cases where you want to quickly expand your country's territory without having to go through the usual diplomacy and warfare that are typically involved in gaining new lands. However, since the annexed provinces won't be cores of your country, they may be less stable and more likely to cause problems, such as rebellions.
