Quick Overview

The age_ruler command in Europa Universalis IV allows you to set the age of your nation's ruler.

By using this command followed by a number, you can determine how old the leader of your country is.

This can potentially impact aspects of the game like the leader's health and longevity.

In-Depth Description

The command age_ruler in Europa Universalis IV (EU4) allows you to set the age of your current ruler.

You would type age_ruler along with a numerical value to specify the age you would like to set your ruler to.

For example, if you decide that you want your ruler to be 30 years old, you would type age_ruler 30 into the console.

This command can be useful in variety of situations. For instance, if your ruler is too young and is under a regency council—a scenario where the player has much more limited diplomatic options—you could age them to 15, when they would normally take the throne.

Alternatively, if your ruler is elderly and has unfavorable traits or low stats, you might want to increase their age to hasten their demise and the succession of the next, hopefully better, ruler.

On the other hand, it might also be used artificially extend a capable ruler's lifetime by reducing his or her age, although, considerations of game balance and immersion might make this an unattractive option for some.
