Quick Overview

In the game Europa Universalis IV (EU4), the add_permanent_claim command is used to add a permanent claim to the specified province for the current country.

This means that your nation will hold the claim to the territory indefinitely in the game, unlike usual claims that can expire.

To use it, you would follow the command with the ID of the province you want to claim.

In-Depth Description

The add_permanent_claim command adds a permanent claim to a province for your country.

If you want to use this command, you need to enter it in a specific format: add_permanent_claim [province ID].

The province ID is a number that represents a particular province in the game, and you need to replace it with the ID of the province where you want to add the claim.

When you have a claim on a province, it decreases the cost to core it when you take it in a war, and it gives you a Casus Belli (a reason for war) against the holder of the province.

This can be quite useful if you're looking to expand your nation's territory and influence, as it can make it easier and cheaper for you to take over provinces.

Permanent claims are even more potent because they don't expire until you take the claimed province or the province's owner ceases to exist. This means you can plan your long-term strategies without having to worry about your claims disappearing after a certain period.

How to Open the Command Console

In EU4, cheats are executed from the command console, a text box that you type commands into.

To open the command console press the ~(tilde) key, which is typically located under ESC (escape).

If your keyboard does not have that key, or pressing ~ does not work, try the following keys:

  • ~
  • SHIFT + 2
  • SHIFT + 3
  • ALT + 2 + 1

Type your command into the console, and then press ENTER .
